Hunter Rand is currently working on graphics software for live television broadcasts, code named: "Graphics Engine." Graphics Engine is currently in closed-alpha and will be released in closed-beta soon. Graphics Engine has already been in limited use in regional and national broadcasts. The goals are affordability, reliability, and performance issues; most current live graphics software fails in these respects. The additional goal is making this software operate offline - locally hosted software is not susceptible to server outages.
Critical Features of Graphics Engine
Graphics Engine runs locally on your hardware, independent on internet access. No internet? You can still create and take graphics for your live broadcasts.
Base model MacBook or Mac Mini? PC with integrated graphics? Doesn't matter. Graphics Engine is designed to work on the cheapest devices as well as the most expensive devices.
Graphics that are previewed are the graphics that are displayed. Simple as that. IYKYK
Graphics Engine is OS agnostic with packages for Mac OS (Intel and Apple Silicon), Windows, Linux, with outputs in OMT with NDI, SDI, and HDMI outputs planned.
Easy, intuitive editing. Need to import graphics packages from other software? Graphics Engine accepts PNGs, JPEGs, SVGs, and more. We're also working on direct imports of .af files.
Graphics Engine includes a companion OCR app for scoreboards and shot clocks with automatic discovery for GE instances on the same network.
